How to Join the Bossuet Gaveliers
If you want to see how a Toastmaster's club operates guests are always welcome to attend a meeting to see what the club is all about and to meet our members. Just contact the vice-president Public Relations (see under Contact Us) or any other member you happen to know. As a guest you will, of course, not be called upon to speak or evaluate, though at the end of the evening the club president may ask you for your comments or impressions.
If you like what you see and want to become a Toastmaster joining the Bossuets is easy. Ask any member for an membership application form. You will then be directed to our vice-president of Education who will go through the form with you and provide any further information you require. The members then vote on admission. A general condition is that the new member be over 18 years of age and should be able, through his or her own efforts, to participate in the program. This implies, among other things, a reasonable proficiency in English.
The Bossuet Gaveliers membership fee is currently (2009-2010) EUR 60 a year, payable in 2 instalments. Since we are a dinner club, costs of about EUR 25-30 per meeting, depending on the restaurant, should also be budgeted.
